NWC Eagles Supporting St Richards Hospice

Check out this picture of the Nunnery Wood Colts Eagles wearing our St Richard’s snowdrops with pride! ⚽

The team’s shirts raise awareness of our care thanks to hospice supporter Matthew Coffin, owner of Matt And Ant Grab Hire. Instead of using the shirt sponsorship to promote his business, Matt wanted us to benefit instead.

Matt said: “The work St Richard’s does is vital to our local communities and families so Matt & Ant Grab Hire is delighted to be able to support both grassroots football and a much-loved local charity at the same time.”

Big thanks to Matt and the team for being such brilliant ambassadors for our care ?

NWC U11 Coyotes are Mascot at the FA Cup game for Worcester City Woman

It was an FA Cup game for Worcester City Woman last Sunday and the u11 Coyotes girls were invited to be mascots.

The Coyotes had an amazing time and Worester City made us feel extremely welcome and it was very inspiring for the girls.

The team got to have their face painted, a goody bag, do some games at half time on the pitch and a penalty shoot out and get some autographs at the end.

It was amazing for the gilrs to walk out with the team. A great experience for them and one to remember!

PLEDGING OUR SUPPORT FOR THE PLAY SAFE WEEKEND 2023 – Saturday 30th Sept/Sunday 1st October

At the end of this month, English football at every level will unite to promote Play Safe – a national campaign to focus attention of the vital importance of safeguarding in our national game.

Led by The Football Association, the Play Safe campaign is endorsed by the NSPCC and supported by every level of the game, including the Premier League, EFL, Barclays Women’s Super League and Barclays Women’s Championship, and right across the grassroots game.

We are proud to be supporting Play Safe on our website and social media channels – and also by making an online Play Safe Pledge

Of course, safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, so if you haven’t already, why not make your own Play Safe Pledge? We encourage you to do so.

This year’s Play Safe weekend has two main messages:

  • ‘Everyone, everywhere, every time’ should have an understanding of safeguarding in football;
  • Everyone should ‘watch, listen, talk and act’ if they have any safeguarding concerns.

If you have a safeguarding concern, or would like some advice, the person to contact at Nunnery Wood Colts FC is Sarah Marshall, 07494 437111

Together, let’s create an ever-safer culture across the game we all love.

Nunnery Wood Colts World Cup themed Girl’s tournament proved a massive success.

NWC hosted their first girl’s tournament since their very successful inaugural event in June 2019

Forty-Seven sides across 16 clubs from all over the Midlands competed in a Lioness themed girls 6 aside football tournament. This was held at the Clubs home ground at Blessed Edwards School in Worcester on Saturday 02 September

The venue hosted around 190 matches, over 6 different age groups, covering U10s, U11s, U12s, U13, U14s and U16s. This was supported by 16 fully qualified referees, including several female referees.

In the pick of the Nunnery Wood sides, Coyotes were unlucky to narrowly miss out to Redditch Borough Lionesses in the Mary Earps under 10s Final.

Other highlights included a Kewford Eagles local derby, in the Chloe Kelly U12s Final, narrowly edged by Kewford Eagles Pink.

A thrilling Lauren Hemp U14s Final went all the way to penalties. In the final kick of the tournament, SJB secured the Cup.

Inkberrow Eagles were the most success club overall. They won the Lucy Bronze U11s and Kiera Walsh U16s finals and finished runners up in the Millie Bright U13s and Lauren Hemp U14s final.

Tournament organiser and U16s Nunnery Pythons manager said “As a club we were delighted that the tournament was such a success. it was great to see so many girls playing and enjoying their football.
