NWC Thunder u11’s had a successful day at their own tournament.

The drama began during the interval, where the goalkeepers penalty shootout took place. The teams keeper Mikolaj Zatorski made it through to sudden death. He managed to steady his nerves and score the winner, proving he’s good not just between the posts, and much to the delight of his teammates who mobbed him in jubilation.

After a tight 0-0 in their semi final match they went into a penalty shootout. A heavy rain storm added to the tension, but they got through in sudden death.

The final proved to be another tight affair. Thunder took the lead through a neat finish from Jack Perry, then goalkeeper Mikolaj  was again called into action after they gave away a penalty. He proved his worth once more with a great save, and the team held on to win 1-0!

The team celebrated by lifting the plate together.
